“Pink is a way of life” has been a personal motto of mine for some time now (just look at my Instagram bio).  Pink has always been my favorite color.  I’ve always been a pretty girly-girl, and I embrace it.  My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 6, and the color took on whole new meaning for me.  I’ve spent months volunteering for the Maine Cancer Foundation and Cancer Community Center.  I’ve also worked with Hair Matters, an organization that provides free wigs to women receiving chemotherapy.  I consider myself a feminist and like that pink has made a comeback in the name of female pride and gender equality.  I took this photo at Christmastime on Exchange Street in Portland.  I was drawn to the “groovy” lights.  I imported the photo to MS Word and added a text box with my motto, angling my words.  I changed the font, font color, and size.
