When you almost manage to stay upright but fall anyway

It took me a while to decide which home video to use for this assignment.  I created a smart folder in iPhoto to search through all the videos I’ve taken(I had to google a tutorial for how to do this).  I watched probably 20 videos I’ve taken on my iPhone, trying to get ideas.  I ended up not using any videos on my computer.  I found a DVD home video from 2006 and played it on my TV.  I didn’t know what was on it, so I was surprised by the content.  I took a video of just the section I wanted on my iPhone from the TV (you can see the glare of the window in my living room).  I uploaded the video to YouTube and used GIPHY.com from there to complete this assignment.  I spent roughly 12 years of my life competitively figure skating.  I never played team sports until high school, and even then my life still revolved around the ice – I played hockey.  In this particular video, I was 8 years old and still at a very basic level in skating.  This was at the North Atlantic Figure Skating Club’s annual Snowflake Skate competition in Falmouth, ME.  As I progressed, I ended up traveling much farther for my skating than one town over.  I used to drive to Massachusetts just to buy skates and to have them sharpened every 8 weeks (figure skates are an investment and the blades require impeccable care).  I had made it through most of my program, thinking I had it in the bag, until this spin, a back spin.  I had been working on this spin for quite awhile and it was the thing that gave me the most trouble at the time.  I’m honestly not sure how I placed in this competition otherwise.  I’ll have to dig out my box of medals which is packed away in my basement to find out!
