I started the “What’s the Meme” creation process by scrolling through my recently imported pictures in iPhoto.  The photo I chose to work with is from January 2017.  Over winter break, I spent 2 weeks in Conway, NH at Stonehearth Open Learning Opportunities (SOLO) where I earned my Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification.  The people I met at SOLO were incredible.  I’ve tried multiple times, but it’s truly challenging for me to describe the positive impact SOLO and its people had on me, so there’s some sentimentality attached to this photo.  On a Sunday at 8pm, 9 of my friends and I decided to go snow tubing.  The maximum amount of people allowed to slide down at once was five, but the managers let all 10 of us go together because we were halfway through our WFR training.  The people in the photo represent 2 countries (United States and Palestine) and 6 states – everyone represents a passion for the wilderness.  We met exactly 1 week prior to the night we went snow tubing, hence my caption, “Does it look like we’ve only known each other 1 week?”  By this time, it seemed like I had known these people for years (I’m still very close with several of them).  I used makeameme.org to create this DS106 assignment.
